Boxing Day

Well what can I say yet again? I was totally gobsmacked when we arrived home boxing day evening about 11.30pm absolutley knackered having had a really and truly FAB day. We went to Henley beach about 30 mins away to meet up with friends from the AdBrits website. The weather was perfect and the kids were lttle gems which was a total contrast to xmas day. We didn't see the kids all day except for putting on more sunscreen and feeding and drinking it was bliss. We met some new people who have since moved near to us and become very good friends so that was great and we were even invited back to the house of some other friends we met that day too so it was a very eventful and enjoyable day. Boxing day back in the Uk is generally eating leftovers and vegging out in front of the tv. Well boxing day here couldn't be more of a contrast, it was 30 degrees and we were sat on a white sandy beach with clear blue sea drinking lovely wine in good company!!! This is one of the reasons we came here and we were so wrapped that boxing day finally wiped the crappy xmas day off!!!

Xmas Day Oz 2005.

Well what can I say? Our first xmas in Australia is one I will never forget and I really would like to!! The day just went from bad to worse, we all knew it would be very different but decided to stick to our traditions and go with the full turkey and all the trimmings. Xmasd day weather was grey and drab and therefore very much reminded us of the Uk but a tad warmer. The kids were so excited to get their pressies but Kennadie started playing up from the minute she woke up saying things like "oh I didn't want that one" and "why have I got this I never asked for it" she was a right little madam the whole of the day and I was really upset with her behaviour. Well worse it still got as after dinner we decided to play games with the kids and after nearly 2 hours of constatnt bickering and arguments I finally gave up and went to bed at 9.30. I have vowed not to do Xmas next year and we will either go away or do things very different.

First Formal Dinner.

Me and Darren were invited to a formal Xmas dinner with my work. This was a really big deal for us as having never been to a dinner dance we didn't know what to expect. The night went well it was held in a really posh 5* hotel and there was free beer, wine and champagne. The food was pretty dire but the champers made up for it. There was a band playing and many people got up to dance but in true Haigh style we were bored and crashed the party next door which was far better music and we had a ball!!!!! We then went back to some collegues of mine's house and partied till 5.30am. That got xmas of to a good start for us!!
