Our First own Aussie Home!!!

Well we finally decided to take the plunge and set down roots firmly and have bought our first aussie home. It took 3 months of looking at many many houses before we fell in love totally with this one. We paid $370,ooo which translates to about 150,oooGBP!!!! Now where in the UK would you be able to buy a house like this for that price you would be looking at 750.000GBP!!! So it has 4 bedrooms, a large seperate games room, pool and spa and is absolutley FAB. The kids love it and it is very easy for them to get the bus to school from here and we are right across the road from a golf course which Darren and Keiren are to become members of. The house is situated in Flagstaff Hill and is about 5 mins away from the rental we had and although we loved living in Coromandel Valley all the houses were older and needed work and quite frankly with summer upon us and the fact that we are both working full time we couldn't be bothered to do the work that needed to be done. We moved in on 1st October so have been ion the house just short of a month and are very nearly finished sorting things out. We are about 20 mins from the beach and 30mins from the city so fairly central to most things.

We are well and truly embracing the Aussie lifestyle with the kids chilling in the pool and spa and having numerous barbies and enjoying the up coming summer. It is now spring and although we have had a few lovely sunny days we have also had some real stormy days and rain that you thought you had left behind in the Uk but hey its all relative and the summer days of 40+ will sure make up for it!!!
